What Makes Your Happy Dog Coach Unique?
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to dog training because no two dogs (or their humans) are exactly alike!
My education is built around understanding each individual dog’s needs, emotions, and natural behaviors, as well as their guardians personal goals, so that dog and guardian can truly connect and communicate.
As Your Happy Dog Coach, I use:
🐾 Force-free, science-backed methods that build trust instead of fear.
🐾 Real-life training that fits your lifestyle, and your goals, in everyday situations.
🐾 A relationship-first approach because great training isn’t about obedience, it’s about teamwork, confidence, and mutual understanding.
I focus on teaching you just as much as your dog so that you feel confident and connected to your dog. Training should feel fun, clear, and stress-free for both of you!
What Can I Help Solve?
Whether you’re starting fresh with a puppy or working through challenges with an older dog, I’m here to help. Some of the most common concerns I address include:
🐾 Leash pulling & reactivity – Helping your dog feel better about going for walks together while staying calm around distractions.
🐾 Confidence-building for both your dog and you, supporting nervous or fearful dogs so they feel safer in their world, and helping you feel better in supporting them to do so.
🐾 Mental & physical enrichment. Taking all of your dogs holistic welfare into account and ensuring they have the outlets they need to life happy, enriched lives.
🐾 Manners & household skills such as teaching polite greetings, settling in the home, and impulse control.
🐾 Strengthening your bond, because a well-trained dog has a different meaning for everyone, so I focus on the bond and connection between you.
No matter what you’re facing, we’ll work together to create a plan that makes sense for you and your dog, with as little stress, force, and fear as possible.
Why do I do this?
There are many reasons why I do what I do, and you can read more about me if you’d like, but the truth is, I’ve always had a kinship with dogs, starting with my family’s dog when I was a child. Being able to not only work with dogs, but to understand them and help them live better lives with their people is simply a dream come true.
When I moved to Yarmouth NS and didn’t find the type of trainer I was looking for, I decided to be the trainer that I, myself, was looking for.
As you’ll see on my “About Me” page, I’ve become a bit obsessed with constantly improving my understanding of dogs. I didn’t set out to, but the more I learn about dogs, the more I realize how much I still want to know. In this unregulated industry, it’s incredibly important to me that I hold myself to the highest standards.
Seeing my clients make progress and build real relationships with their dogs is the true reward.
I believe dog training should feel collaborative, empowering, and fun, for both dog and human. There’s no such thing as a “bad” dog, and training isn’t about control, it’s about understanding and building a relationship based on trust, communication, and respect. My goal is to help people decode their dog’s behavior, communicate clearly, and build a partnership based on trust, love, and respect.
If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to be part of your journey.
